Brokerage, explained

Brokerage is the one-time fee you pay the dealer who finds and closes the property for you. It covers the legwork: shortlisting genuine options, arranging visits, negotiating with the owner and getting the paperwork over the line.
On UrbanRentals the brokerage amount is stated on the listing itself, before you ever pick up the phone. You know the rent, the deposit and the brokerage upfront — so you can budget properly and there is no awkward surprise at the door.
Treat it like any other cost of moving: compare it against the rent and deposit, ask exactly what is included, and get the final number in writing before you pay. A good dealer will happily put it on paper.
