Setting up power, water & internet in a new flat

Getting the basics running — power, water, gas and internet — should be near the top of your move-in list.

Confirm whether the electricity and water connections are already active and in whose name the bills come. For internet, check which providers serve the building and book installation a few days ahead, since slots fill up fast.

Keep a note of account numbers and customer-care contacts, and clarify with the owner how society maintenance and any shared utilities are billed.
